WINTER in SUN PEAKS

CANADA'S 2ND LARGEST SKI AREA

Guests come from all corners of the world to ski on the three mountains of the charming European-style village of Sun Peaks. This mountain resort is ideal for families, group of friends, and racing teams. With an average of 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, 4,720 acres of skiable terrain, 13 lifts and 137 trails with 19 gladed areas, over 37 km groomed and track set Nordic trails, Sun Peaks is destined to be the 2nd largest ski area in Canada.

With so much to do, what will your favourite activity be?

VILLAGE LIFE

Sun Peaks offer a variety of shops, stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and activities so that non-skiers are not left behind. Around 900 residents call Sun Peaks their home, but from Christmas Break to Spring Break, it is advised to secure your accommodation, as the many guests bring a lively buzz to the enchanting village life.

SKIING GALORE

Sun Peaks receives 6 metres of snow per year and is blessed with light, dry powder conditions that the Interior of British Columbia is famous for. Visitors from Australia, New Zealand, USA, Europe and Canada equally appreciate the picturesque skiing terrain, with many trees and beautiful views.

NORDIC & BACK COUNTRY

Over 37 kilometres of impeccably groomed and track set trails are accessible right from the village. Take the Morrisey Express chairlift for exceptional access to seemingly endless backcountry terrain and scenic mountain views off the Holy Cow trail. Or take the pet-friendly route to the McGillivray Lake Outpost warming hut.

SNOWSHOEING

Possibly the best way to appreciate the nature. Explore the extensive snowshoe trail system at Sun Peaks Resort! Either connect with one of many snowshoe tours, or venture out on your own. Trail network only available to guests on snowshoes, due to the winter conditions of the trails. Go and create your own snowshoe adventure!

SNOWMOBILING

Snowmobile tours head into the Sun Peaks backcountry where guests ride on a variety of trails, wide open frozen lakes, and clear meadows. Along the way guests will see the gorgeous views of the Thompson Nicola region. See how much fun snowmobiling in Canada can be!

ICE SCATING RINK

Sun Peaks is upgrading the ice skating rink arena, which is centrally located close to the village and next to Timberline Village complex. Hockey teams will be able to come for practice and games. There will be dedicated times for family use. So bring your skates! Access is complementary.

DOG SLEDDING

At Mountain Man Dog Sled Adventures, you'll have the opportunity to experience the thrill of driving a dog sled! Live the dream of feeling the raw power of Alaskan Huskies pulling the sled through the Canadian Winter Wonderland. Your guide will show you how the dogs live and how they love to run on the private trails that wind through the snowy forest.

SLEIGH RIDE

Sit back under the covers and take in the sights and sounds of the village and surrounding area for a daylight, sunset or evening tour.  You will wind through the village at a leisurely pace and listen to the clatter of hooves and ringing of sleigh bells before moving out more briskly into the open for views of the valley, mountains, and Sun Peaks' amenities before our return via a gentle ski run.
